Priya’s timidity, which we know now, goes against every grain of Priyanka Chopra’s actual go-getter personality. Yes, Ullathai Killathe was her first recording before she became world popular with “Exotic.” Apparently, it was Vijay who persuaded her into singing the song after he heard her hum on the sets. But, a determined Priya eventually seduces him into singing “Ullathai Killathe,” which was actually sung by Vijay and Priyanka. He doesn’t give two hoots about her presence and continues with his work. In her desperation for Surya’s attention, she once walks into his office uninvited. She just hangs around the sidelines, waiting for the hero to take a break from his work so she could entertain him. But, Priya has no higher calling or purpose to fulfil in her life. The timid girl lets her hair down and matches steps with her man before she goes back to being the underconfident, nervous and unambitious damsel.Īfter a point in the film, Priya loses Surya’s full attention as the hero finds his calling in teaching the law to common people. Her plain and single tone dresses (just like her character) make way for short and trendy clothes in the song sequences. Paradoxically, Priya is not expected to carry her reservations into the duet numbers. And what adds in a big way to the song is Bhumika Chawla in an altogether different 'avtaar' that should surprise even the ones who have been following her movies closely.Priya can’t make eye contact with the boy she likes. Composed by Ram Sampat, the song has a HIT written all over it due to a great rhythm and impressive blend of vintage locations and contemporary dance steps. The trend should continue with 'Family - Ties Of Blood', for which the first song 'Katra Katra' is currently on air. 'Waqt' had a foot tapping 'Holi', 'Bewafa' boasted of a pulsating title track, Aitraaz had 'Gela Gela', 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi' again had most of the songs making it to the charts, 'Andaaz' had a super hit Nadeem Shravan score while one can't forget 'Dil Dooba' from 'Khakee'. Just recently he had a rocking score in 'Garam Masala' where almost every song has been a HIT. His upcoming movie 'Deewane Huye Paagal' has a popular number 'Dil Luteya'. Just a quick look at some of his recent movies and the picture would be crystal clear. In fact he is also having one hit after another when it comes to his songs. If one looks at Akshay Kumar's movies in the recent years, its not just the consistency with which he has been coming up with movie successes.
